Work With Me

Bookkeeping support shouldn't feel one-size-fits-all.

Whether your books are behind, half-managed, or technically done but still leaving you in the dark, there's a version of this that actually works for how you operate.

Brighten offers a small suite of services designed to give you the right kind of support, at the right level, for where your business actually is.

Katie, founder of Brighten Bookkeeping Co.

The thing about bookkeeping is that it shouldn't be the part of your business that keeps you up at night.

You're building something real. You're doing the work. And you deserve to actually understand where your money's going, what's working, and whether you're on track, without it eating up your evenings or perpetually living in the back of your mind.

That's the whole point of Brighten. Helping small business owners move from reactive to ready, one month at a time.

The process

How it works (no guesswork required)

01

Tell me a bit about your business

Fill out a short form so I have a picture of your setup before we talk. It takes about five minutes, and it means our call can be about your actual situation rather than the basics.

02

We talk it through

A 15-minute intro call to get to know each other, answer your questions, and make sure this is a good fit. Before we hang up, I'll give you a realistic price range based on what I know so far.

03

I take a look at your books

If it makes sense, I'll ask for access to your QuickBooks Online file so I can confirm what we discussed and quote you accurately. You'll get a confidentiality agreement first, and nothing in your file gets changed.

04

You get a proposal

A clear written proposal with the actual number, what's included, and what happens next. No pressure, and no obligation to move forward.

What it costs

Where might your business land?

Every quote is custom, because no two sets of books look the same. But "starting at $325" isn't much help if you have no idea what moves the number. Here's a rough sense of how pricing tends to shape up for ongoing monthly bookkeeping, based on how much is actually going on in your business.

Simple and current

$325 to $450 per month

Sole proprietor, one or two accounts, under 50 transactions a month, no payroll, and books that are more or less up to date.

A few moving parts

$450 to $700 per month

Sole proprietor or corporation, three or four accounts, somewhere between 50 and 150 transactions a month, GST filed quarterly, and maybe some subcontractors in the mix.

More complex

$700 to $1,100 per month

Incorporated, payroll running, several accounts, 150 to 300 transactions a month, and monthly reporting you actually use.

Full operational support

$1,100 and up per month

Higher volume, payroll, project or job costing, regular weekly posting, and close ongoing communication month to month.

These ranges assume your books are current. If there's catching up to do first, that's scoped and quoted separately as part of getting started. Bookkeeping Guidance and Support is priced differently, since the work is shared, and it's quoted the same way after we talk.

What clients say

Ready when you are

When the numbers feel heavy, the next step should feel light.

Fill out a short form, book a 15-minute call, and we'll figure out together whether this is a good fit. You'll leave the call with a realistic sense of what this would cost, and no obligation to go any further.
